宿や平岩は五條楽園の代表的なお茶屋、遊郭建築の一例である。戦後に平岩家は明治時代のお茶屋を改装して「宿や平岩」の創建した。
Yadoya Hiraiwa is a representative example of tea house (ochaya), traditional architecture of former pleasure area (yukaku). After WWII, the family Hiraiwa has restored this Meiji era tea house and created the ryokan Yadoya Hiraiwa.
